Teacher Training Programs
The Institute
offers one of the most comprehensive multi-level yoga teacher programs in the
West. It is a holistic program, drawing its vision from its founder, Sri Swami
Rama. Our faculty is a living link with the ancient lineage of masters and sages
who have explored the pathways to human fulfillment.
This year we offer our beginning and intermediate hatha yoga curriculum: each is
a week intensive followed by the practical and spiritual import of the program
spread over a period of months, ending with a weekend intensive. Once a student
is accepted into the program, course credits (marked TT plus credit hours in the
schedule) may be accumulated for required electives. Those interested in teacher
training should call the IHT office for an application. IHT certification
automatically grants certification in RYA as well.
The next training dates:
Beginning Hatha Yoga Part II — January 5-6, 2008
Meditation Teacher Training Part I — February 23-24, 2008
New Beginning Hatha Yoga Part I — May 19-23, 2008
New Intermediate Hatha Yoga Part I — July 7-11, 2008

IHTTA Membership
Teachers of the Institute of the Himalayan Tradition demonstrate a leadership in
classic Raja/Ashtanga yoga. These practitioners form a comraderie to support the
members in advancing the systematic analysis and performance of the ancient art
handed down for centuries. Meetings, retreats, and special intensive workshops
are promoted for the continual education and refinement of the members’ skills.
Members share teaching experiences and enhance the practical art of their
teaching and communication while broadening their formal comprehension of the
interrelated aspects of yoga science. Members receive the journal Himalayan
Path as part of membership.
Students of IHT Teacher Training and Yoga Alliance members are able to join
IHTTA for all these benefits. Call the IHT office for more information.
